April started at Cashiers Valley Preschool in 2019 as the Lead Toddler Teacher and was promoted to Director in 2023. She has Associates Degrees in Early Childhood Science Education and Traditional Early Childhood Education and was awarded the Administrator Certificate in 2024. April is a loving mom of four who likes to take family outings in her free time. Her favorite part about working at CVP is greeting the children each morning and creating lasting relationships between students, families, staff and the community. Her favorite children’s book is The Foolish Turtle by Eric Carle.

She previously worked at KinderCare Learning Center as the Lead Toddler Teacher from 2021-2024 before moving to North Carolina. MaCayla has her Early Childhood Credentials and is working toward a degree in Traditional Early Childhood

Rita has her CDL and enjoys driving buses for Boys and Girls Club and Blue Ridge School in her spare time. Rita is a mother of three and enjoys being the sports mom on the sidelines cheering for her kids, and playing video games. Her favorite aspect of her job is seeing the children learn and prepare for kindergarten. Her favorite children’s book is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.

She then moved to Summit Charter School where she served as the first grade assistant for nine years. She has her Early Childhood Credential that she received in 2008. Donna is a mother of two, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loves to read and sew in her free time. Her favorite part of working at CVP is teaching the children and watching them grow. Her favorite children’s book is Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae.

Kyra joined the CVP staff in September of 2024. She previously worked as the pastry assistant at High Hampton. She is a mother of one and loves to bake in her spare time. Kyra’s favorite part of working at CVP is playing in centers with the children. Her favorite Children’s book is Matilda by Ronald Dahl.

She first started working in childcare in her early 20’s, working at different preschools for ten years before taking a break. She returned to the field after joining a church nursery. Claudia earned her CDA for the first time in 1997 and went on to earn it two more times. Her favorite part of her job is doing artwork with the kids and watching them grow. Her favorite children’s book is Alistair’s Elephant by Marilyn Sadler.
